Hubungan Riwayat Ibu Hamil Anemia dan Kurang Energi Kronik dengan Neonatus Risiko Tinggi di Puskesmas Mentikan Kota Mojokerto

Anemia and chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women (CED) remain a problem in Indonesia, potentially increasing the risk of pregnancy complications and negatively impacting neonatal health. Anemia can lead to reduced oxygen and nutrient supply to the fetus, while chronic energy deficiency may cause impaired fetal growth and development. This study aims to analyze the association between a history of anemia and chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy and the occurrence of high-risk neonates. The study design employed a case control design using secondary data. The sampling technique utilized total sampling, comprising 47 high-risk neonates and 47 non-high-risk neonates. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The results showed that among the 47 high-risk neonates, 21.3% were born to mothers with a history of anemia and 8.5% to mothers with a history of chronic energy deficiency. Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between a history of maternal anemia and the occurrence of high-risk neonates (p-value = 0.03; OR = 6.08). Meanwhile, a history of chronic energy deficiency did not show a significant association with the occurrence of high-risk neonates (p-value = 0.68; OR = 2.1). A history of anemia during pregnancy is a factor associated with high-risk neonatal outcomes, whereas a history of chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy does not show a significant association with high-risk neonatal outcomes. Efforts to prevent anemia and chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women need to be enhanced through routine prenatal checkups, monitoring of mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) and hemoglobin levels, and the optimized administration of iron supplements.
