Conflict of Interest

Conflict of Interest

Preventif: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat requires transparent disclosure of interests that could influence, or appear to influence, research and editorial judgments. Disclosure does not automatically prevent publication.

  1. Interests to Disclose

Relevant interests include employment, consultancy, honoraria, share ownership, patents, personal relationships, professional rivalry, and other financial or non-financial commitments related to the work.

  1. Authors

Each author must disclose relevant interests at submission and update the declaration when circumstances change. Manuscripts must contain a Conflict of Interest statement before the References section.

When no relevant interests exist, authors may state:

“The authors declare no conflicts of interest related to this work.”

When interests exist, the statement must identify the author, organization, and relationship involved.

  1. Funding

Funding must be reported separately. Authors must describe the sponsor’s involvement in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, writing, and publication decisions, or state that the sponsor had no involvement.

  1. Reviewers and Editors

Reviewers and editors must disclose relationships that could compromise impartiality and withdraw where necessary. Confidential manuscript information must not be used for personal benefit.

Submissions from editors or editorial board members must be handled independently by an uninvolved editor.

  1. Editorial Management

The handling editor will assess disclosed interests and determine appropriate safeguards. These may include appointing another editor, selecting alternative reviewers, or requesting additional information.

Editorial decisions must be based on scientific merit, relevance, and research integrity. Publication fees, sponsorship, or institutional relationships must not determine acceptance.

  1. Undisclosed Interests

Suspected omissions may be reported to:

preventifjournal.fkm@gmail.com

Reports should identify the manuscript or article and provide supporting information. Authors will be given an opportunity to respond. Confirmed omissions may require an updated declaration, correction, reassessment, or referral under the journal’s research misconduct procedures, depending on their significance.
